Toluwanisings’ Family Threatens to Exhume Singer’s Body if Widow Buries Him in Cemetery

The family of late gospel singer Toluwanisings has threatened to exhume his remains if his widow, Elizabeth, proceeds with plans to bury him in a cemetery against their wishes. The controversy over the musician’s final resting place has intensified following a video in which a family representative issued a stern warning to the widow and her supporters.

In the viral video, the representative insisted that the family had agreed that Toluwanisings must not be buried in a public cemetery. He demanded that his remains be taken to the family compound, where relatives want him buried beside his late mother’s grave. He also threatened to reopen the grave and relocate the singer’s body if the family’s position was ignored.

The representative, who said he was speaking on behalf of the entire family, maintained that the singer should be brought home for burial. He further stated that the family would not accept a cemetery interment, regardless of the reasons for rejecting a burial at the house the late musician built.

The dispute reportedly began when the family insisted that Toluwanisings should be buried at his residence in Ibadan. However, his widow, Elizabeth, reportedly opposed the arrangement, citing the emotional difficulty of continuing to live in a house where her husband would be buried.

Following the disagreement, the family proposed an alternative arrangement: if a burial at the singer’s residence was unacceptable, his remains should be taken to his father’s compound and laid to rest beside his mother.

Toluwanisings died on October 14, 2026. His burial arrangements have since become a source of disagreement between his widow and other members of his family, with both sides reportedly holding different positions on where he should be laid to rest.

The latest threat has added another layer of tension to the dispute, particularly because the family representative explicitly warned that relatives would exhume the singer’s remains if their wishes were disregarded. It remains unclear whether both parties have reached an agreement on the burial arrangements.
