Manchester United are reportedly closing in on the signing of Brazilian midfielder Ederson from Atalanta in what is expected to be the club’s first major acquisition of the summer transfer window.
According to reports, United have reached an agreement worth £35 million, with an additional £3.9 million tied to performance-related bonuses.
The 26-year-old midfielder is expected to sign a four-year contract, with the deal including an option to extend his stay by a further year.

While the transfer has not yet been officially completed, Ederson is expected to undergo a medical examination before finalizing the move.

During his time at Atalanta, he made 180 appearances and scored 16 goals while demonstrating his versatility across several midfield positions.
The Brazilian has also represented his country at senior level, earning three international caps and securing a place in Brazil’s provisional squad ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
